Thomas Huyghe draws from a deep inner urgency
Quiet obsession. Sharp irony.
His work is both a mirror of his emotional life and a reflection of the turbulent times we live in. Many of his drawings belong to thematic series (like Balance Act, Truncated Trees, Ça Va Citoyen?, Bonjour Corona) that explore different facets of this tension.
Driven by urgent feelings, his line work adapts: sometimes slow and meditative, sometimes quick and nervy, but always in service of expression. Using only a 0.7 mm B mechanical pencil, he intentionally limits his tools to build a layered, personal world a deliberate artistic choice in a time of endless possibilities.
